Food Portfolio UX Review

I’m Jay Logan. I reviewed eight Delta Digital food platforms through a product and UX lens to identify where stronger save, discovery, trust, and return loops can create clearer reader value.

This presentation is built to support the room: short talking points on screen, deeper current-vs-proposed examples as we move through each site, and a simple path for people to follow along on their phones.

The framework

How I approached each audit

The goal is not just to find design issues. It is to identify where each site can keep readers engaged longer, bring them back more often, and turn useful actions into measurable product loops.

01

Save loop

Make saving recipes obvious, account-aware, and durable across phone, desktop, and return visits.

02

Discovery loop

Help readers narrow deep archives by course, diet, occasion, ingredient, method, and intent without scanning endless grids.

03

Trust loop

Move proof — ratings, reviews, reader favorites, and social validation — closer to the decision point.

04

Return loop

Give every high-intent action a path back through print, email, QR codes, rating prompts, and saved recipe collections.

Audit thesis

Where the opportunity sits

Belly Full's biggest opportunity is an account-based Recipe Box connected to clearer save actions, private notes, stronger review trust signals, better category discovery, a more product-like cookbook page, and a branded print/QR return loop.

Save clarity

Make saving an obvious, first-class header action instead of a menu item inside Share.

Account Recipe Box

Move saves from a browser to a person so they travel across phone and desktop.

Trust and return

Bring reviews forward and give the printed recipe a branded way back to the site.

Audit lens applied

What we check

  • Where Save sits in the recipe header hierarchy
  • Whether saves survive a device switch
  • What confirmation the reader gets after saving

Loop definition

Make saving recipes obvious, account-aware, and durable across phone, desktop, and return visits.

Discussion points

  • 01

Social following is larger than monthly sessions — the return loop is the gap, not reach.

  • 02

Six findings, two critical: both critical items sit on the save loop.

  • 03

The cookbook page is the only commerce surface on the site and is currently structured as a post.
